Color 3D printing of pulped yam utilizing a natural pH sensitive pigment

A novel color control strategy for 3D printing was proposed based on a single channel nozzle with raw material. The basic principle to regulate the pH of extruded line through electrolysis which would result in change pH-sensitive pigments mixed printed materials. Using pulped yam as feedstock and sensitive pigment extracted from purple sweet potato (PPP), process parameters were optimized using moisture content 35% PPP 5 mg/100 g. Printing tests showed that could be conveniently controlled by adjusting applied electrode potential − 45 V hue range 0.192–0.916, exhibited gradually changing scheme mauve yellow. promising advantages low cost, convenient simple composition.
